Culturenest is a site looking at “hidden gems and forgotten classics” of television, cinema, music, books, and the visual arts. So forgotten, in fact, that nobody remembers them at all...

Created and written by Mark Griffiths, with additional material by Tim Worthington, the site had already existed in an earlier incarnation - but we were brought on-board to do a redesign from the ground up, to improve accessibility. This design work also included a new logo, appropriately based on the look of a dictionary definition. As a text-heavy site, special attention was given to making sure the text was easy to read, and resized well in the browser; important for the visually-impaired. We also gave advice on a suitable domain name, and provided the web hosting.

As an early piece of work we were involved in - and bearing in mind that the web has changed a lot in the past four-and-a-half years! - Culturenest would no doubt be improved design-wise if it was created today, especially the front page. Nevertheless, it has aged quite well, and the article pages themselves have stood the test of time.
